The decision to close the Water Park came after lengthly discussions about options for the season. The Mayor and his staff took a holistic approach to determining what was best for the community based on the current COVID-19 pandemic. The health and safety of our employees and customers is paramount and we aren't willing to risk their well being for the sake of opening. Were we to open, we would have had to increase staff to operate the water park under the guidelines set forth by the Governor and the Ohio Department of Health. The fact that we could only allow 159 customers in at one time meant that even if we were filled to capacity every day for the entire season, the city would lose money. City Council previously budgeted funds for repairs and updates the Water Park. The city will be replacing the kiddie pool area flooring, repairing the decking and spill buckets in addition to new umbrellas. We are looking forward to seeing you next year. Be well, be safe and stay healthy!!!
